The research task this week

I need to create a list that outlines the things that contribute to my character as a designer.

My favourite designers and Artists.

These are the artists I resonate with the most and that have had the biggest influence on me as a designer.

Hayao Miyazaki

Born on January 5th, 1941, Hayao Miyazaki co-founded Studio Ghibli and directed iconic films like Spirited Away and My Neighbour Totoro. His enchanting work, known for minimal dialogue and magical music, has always resonated with me and inspired my love for design.

Jon Burgerman

Jon Burgerman, born in 1979, is a British artist whose playful, energetic style first influenced me in high school. His work, featuring fuzzy characters and emotional depth, is created with aerosol paint. His childlike vision remains a huge inspiration in my design journey.

Gustav Klimt

Austrian painter Gustav Klimt, born in 1862, is known for his opulent work like The Kiss. His use of colour and form, especially in works like The Three Ages of Woman, greatly influenced my pursuit of design during college.

Yayoi Kusama

Yayoi Kusama, a 95-year-old Japanese artist, is famous for her immersive installations and obsession with polka dots. Her work, which I first discovered in college, inspired me to explore sculpture and non-traditional forms of design.
