Reflecting on my week

This week I focused on understanding the module brief and identifying my strengths and weaknesses as a designer. My research has covered a mix of theoretical and practical approach but has mostly been on self-reflection and identity. Thought my research so far I’ve been drawn to the concept of authenticity and self-awareness, I'm thinking this will be my main focus for the project.

Feedback from my tutor highlighted that while my chosen words were strong, I can also include more obvious strengths and weaknesses. I don’t always have to outside the box. He also suggested experimenting with a medium I'm less confident in or leaning into something I'm already skilled at. This made me consider animation as a potential direction for my project as it’s what I studied before I started graphic design, it might be quite a fun challenge to combine something I’m good at with someone I’m still learning.

Plan for Next Week

• Continue my research but shift towards a more focused approach, refining what I want to explore.
• Look into potential mediums and their effectiveness in communicating strengths and weaknesses.
• Explore the PDF submission requirements alongside my project to ensure I integrate relevant information early on.
• Revisit my strengths and weaknesses list with a fresh perspective, considering how they translate inti my chosen media.
• Research the design squiggle - suggested by another student.
• Start experimenting.
