I made the last round of changes to the zine, keeping in mind that the aim isn’t perfection, but to show the type of work NeuroRoutes would produce — humorous, helpful, and accessible.
1. Refined Titles
I shortened all titles to make them clearer and easier to scan. Long titles felt overwhelming and cluttered the layout. This also helps improve text hierarchy and balance.
2. Layout Adjustments
I improved spacing across pages to give text and illustrations more breathing room. Alignments were tightened to feel more structured, and padding was added to reduce crowding. All body text is now left-aligned for better readability.
3. Consistent Colour Use
I replaced the bright lime green with a softer lavender to improve visual comfort and consistency. Pink borders were applied to every page for cohesion without overwhelming the design.
4. Escalator Page Captions
I added short, direct tips to guide the viewer’s understanding of the scene, keeping the tone casual but useful.
5. Map and Maze Edits
I clarified these pages with small text prompts to help guide the reader through them, without making them overly literal.
6. Back Cover Rewrite
The final page now includes a full brand description. It explains what NeuroRoutes is and frames the zine as part of a wider design initiative focused on neurodiverse travel experiences.
