I have decided that I'm going to focus on dyslexia for my project just to try and compact my research, but in the idea that if i were to continue this brand / business, i would move into other areas such as autism friendly guides and more.

What the London Underground already offers neuro diverse passengers.

I've been looking into the ‘Equality and assistance policies, and future plans’ on the underground website, trying to find any information of guides they have to traveling through the undergrounds with a disability. Although after some research all i could find was information on wheelchair accessibility and guides, and some for people who are visually impaired. All the information they had were for physical disabilities rather than anyone who is neurodiverse.

As for maps, they have there own maps for people who are colour blind, they have large print, and maps that highlight what lines are assessable. but gain they had no maps simplifying the maps, making term easier to understand and read, none using dyslexic colours.

Dyslexia resources that have been designed for passengers.

i found this website called the disabled travel advice where there purpose it to advise people with additional need, the best ways to travel. I found a page called dyslexia and public transport, where they go into coping mechanisms for people who struggle with dyslexia, they have sections on buses and trains. They gave some great advise but there was no section for the undergrounds which is a shame.

There was also a section on the uk paralments website called ‘Transport Committee Written evidence from The Adult Dyslexia Organisation’. in this they actually point out dyslexia barriers which included the underground map, which was what sparked the whole idea for this project.

Dyslexia research in relation to recommendations for reasonable adjustments and the equality act 2010.

Adjustments people have to make, what do TFL have to legally make? Nuero-divergent generally.
