Reflection on Feedback – Pitch Deck + Studio Practice + Artefact
I sent an email last week summarising my plan for the three modules: Pitch Deck, Studio Practice, and Artefact. I received some really helpful feedback, which gave me new insights into how I can improve and develop my project further. In response, I’ll be creating a reflection and a to-do list to take this advice into account and guide my next steps.
1. Pitch Deck Reflection
Advise I was given:
- I need to clearly communicate the problem: navigating the London Underground can be particularly overwhelming for people with dyslexia (yes, that’s the focus).
- I must back this up with numbers – how many people does this affect? I need to estimate or research data on dyslexic people who use public transport in London.
- I need to look at existing solutions (e.g. TFL accessibility measures) and articulate how my idea improves or complements them.
- It's essential to explain why my proposed items (zine, stickers, badges, motion loop) are needed, not just list them. How do they serve the user's journey?
Advise I was given:
- My tone of voice (friendly, personal, funny) is a strength – it feels like a peer-to-peer communication, not an organisation talking down to someone.
- I need to justify every creative output through the lens of audience need rather than just aesthetics or trends.
2. Studio Practice Reflection
Advise I was given:
- The zine is still a great format – but I need to go deeper with the content. What does the audience need in that moment of travel anxiety or confusion?
- A flat plan (contents layout) is key. I don’t have to show the whole thing visually, but I need to explain the intent, flow, tone, and core features (like maps, tips, humour, illustrated guidance, relatable anecdotes).
- I must link each piece of content in the zine to the problems I’ve identified and how it solves or eases those challenges.
3. Promotional Artefact Reflection
Advise I was given:
- The motion piece is viable, but it needs to be seen as part of a larger marketing experience – how does someone interact with it? What’s the CTA?
