Notes from My meeting with Dyslexia Tutor.

My new tutor (to help with my work) went through the research I've done so far and suggested some things i should try and do to make myself feel prepared for the deadline.

  1. Research Accessibility, this will lead you to your audience.
  2. Researching what the London Underground already offers neuro diverse passengers will contribute to your research.
  3. The British Dyslexia Association (BDA) is best resource for statistics and dyslexia info.
  4. Research dyslexia resources that have been designed for passengers already-if any.
  5. Look at Dyslexia fonts for your designs and PDF’s.
  6. Think about background as 'off white' colour (buff), think about finish you would have (matt or gloss), what colors (colour pallet)? what shape? overall style? Could look into dyslexia colours.
  7. Who are my competitors and why? What do i have that they don't?
  8. We shall get writing the PDF around end of June. If we use Google Docs we can both edit the document whilst in our sessions.
  9. Check out this interesting Piece on dyslexia transport. - https://www.mylondon.news/news/transport/passenger-complains-new-tfl-london-31375966
  10. Look at Keyword examples: transport + dyslexia, trains + dyslexia, underground trains + dyslexia, Europe and other places (Sweden and Holland tend to do things better for ND people), transport + neurodivergence.

To do Created during meeting (before next week):

  1. Research pop up stands.
  2. Experiment with a design strategy.
  3. Update blog.
  4. Audience profile considerations.
  5. Keep researching everything mentioned during the meeting.
