For the eighth lecture we continue to present our creative practitioner interview series, which offers insight into identifying, developing, project managing and completing an industry focused project.
This week the creative practitioners answer the following question:
– What methods and approaches do you take to aid idea generation and an in-depth project outcome?
Snapshot
The discussion revolves around the importance of prototyping, experimentation, and idea generation in the design process, with various designers sharing their approaches and methods for creating innovative solutions.
Key findings
The key findings suggest that prototyping, experimentation, and idea generation are crucial components of the design process, and that designers should be willing to take risks, try new things, and learn from failure.
The key finding is that involving multiple people from different disciplines in the idea generation phase can lead to better outcomes, as it allows for a wider range of perspectives and ideas.
When it comes to methods and approaches, I think there's, there's 1, or no, 2 things that I typically give to juniors or media designers. If you look at, for example, how things can sometimes go at a client side is something that doesn't always get done, but I think is is vital to making something that can be made, you know, what I mean like, it's, you need to look at different disciplines
Objectives
The objectives of the design process include creating innovative solutions, understanding client needs, and developing effective strategies for communication.
Methods
The methods used in the design process include workshops, brainstorming sessions, prototyping, and experimentation, as well as techniques such as image selection, Rorschach blots, and sketching.
The method mentioned is to bring together a team of people from different disciplines, including developers, UX designers, services designers, and researchers, to collaborate on idea generation.
Results
The results of the design process include the development of innovative solutions, a deeper understanding of client needs, and the creation of effective communication strategies.
The result of this approach is the potential for more groundbreaking and viable solutions, as well as a reduced risk of narrowing down possibilities too early in the project.
