Summary of the Questionnaire and Its Purpose

To support the development of my Gallentine’s Day exhibition concept, I created a detailed questionnaire aimed at understanding how my target audience — mainly Gen Z women — would respond to the event. The survey explores key aspects of the experience, including the atmosphere, the type of content people want to see beside the paintings, their comfort with creating art in a public space, and practical considerations like timing, accessibility, and overall interest.

The questions cover both emotional and functional elements of the event. They look at what people find appealing about celebrating forgotten women in art, how social they would like the event to feel, whether music should be involved, and what motivates them to participate creatively. By mixing multiple-choice, checkbox, and open-ended questions, the questionnaire gathers both quantitative data (patterns and preferences) and qualitative insights (personal thoughts and suggestions).

This primary research is essential because it helps me understand how people might genuinely interact with the event, rather than relying on assumptions. Since the idea blends education, social interaction, and creativity, the audience’s comfort level and expectations are especially important.

The questionnaire allows me to:

Overall, this research ensures the final exhibition design is grounded in audience needs and expectations. It strengthens the project by showing that every decision — from the layout to the activities — is shaped by real user insight, not just my own creative vision.
