Research Task

Your research task this week is to seek to gain a fresh insight about the project you are developing.

You might choose to reflect on the feedback and comments made by staff and your peers or your engagement with your target audience.

This week, I focused on gaining fresh insight into my Gallentine’s Day exhibition concept by reflecting on the feedback I received, as well as engaging with my target audience, through a short questionnaire. Feedback highlighted the importance of clarifying my role as creative director versus the curator’s role, ensuring that the exhibition concept is both practical and visually cohesive. Peers offered suggestions on how to make the interactive elements, such as the A6 visitor artworks and bean bag spaces, more engaging and accessible.

Engaging with my target audience provided me with additional valuable insights. Responses to the questionnaire helped me understand what aspects of the event are most appealing, what might make visitors feel comfortable creating art in public, and how the atmosphere, music, and presentation could enhance the overall experience. Combining these perspectives has allowed me to refine my project goals, focus on user-centred design, and ensure that the exhibition will feel meaningful, enjoyable, and inclusive for the audience I am aiming to reach.
